The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.
I give them eternal life; they will never be lost and no one will ever steal them from my hand.
The Father, who has given them to me, is greater than anyone, and no one can steal anything from the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.
John 10:27-30
Today, we peer deeper into the Father’s love for each one of us, as His child.
From the words of Jesus, we begin to understand that we are not only precious to Him (our Saviour), but we are also precious to His Heavenly Father.
No wonder He thought His disciples (and us) to pray, “Our Father”.
He wants us to know that we are truly children of the Father, Whom the Father cares for.
He gives us the assurance that we are in the Father’s Hands and so we can never be snatched away or lost.
This should make us ponder and ask ourselves, “How much of a relationship do I have with God The Father?”
It may seem scary and audacious to even ponder this at first.
If it is that way for us, imagine what it was like for the apostles when they heard Jesus call God, their Father.
However, God wants us to be His audacious children!
He has done for us beyond all we could ever ask or imagine, and for us to fail to recognise the fullness of His love, or allow ourselves to love Him unreservedly, is something we need to pray to overcome.
Yes, the love of God is overwhelming and who can ever repay Him?
No one.
Yet, God doesn’t want us to repay Him.
He simply wants us to love Him with all we have; all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
And even though our love might be little, or feel poor and wretched, as long as we’re loving God with all we are, we can be assured that He deeply delights (and I dare to say, glories) in our love.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, most gracious and loving Father, we thank You for Your love towards us.
Thank You Father for sending Your Son, Jesus, into our world, to reveal the treasures of Your Kingdom to us.
Your love is Divine and all excelling.
Thank You for helping us understand that You will never lose us and no one will ever snatch us from Your Hands.
Blessed be Your Holy Name, forever and ever.
Amen.
Always & Forever,
To the Lamb,
With all my ❤
