Did you not know? Had you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, he created the remotest parts of the earth. He does not grow tired or weary, his understanding is beyond fathoming.
29 He gives strength to the weary, he strengthens the powerless.
30 Youths grow tired and weary, the young stumble and fall,
31 but those who hope in Yahweh will regain their strength, they will sprout wings like eagles, though they run they will not grow weary, though they walk they will never tire.
Isaiah 40:28-31
Truly Yahweh is the everlasting GOD. And those who put their trust in Him will never be put to shame.
As I reflect on this year and His mercy upon my life, all His words have been fulfilled even as He has promised in today’s reading.
The Psalms and Gospel of today (Ps 103, Matthew 11:28-30) also emphasise the mercy and help of God.
God is so compassionate that He helps us with carrying our burdens. He Who is Almighty is also all compassionate and kind and merciful and loving and tender and gracious!
Ah, we serve such a great GOD!
What a loving Father we have in Jesus Christ Who has opened the heart of the Eternal God to us!
Today as I reflect on these scripture verses, which are some of my favourite, I feel truly blessed to be encompassed in the love of God.
This is a love and mercy and favour and grace that is freely available to all because the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ our Saviour, has paid the price of our salvation!
Alleluia!!! Glory be to His Holy Name. Amen!
Prayer
Dear LORD Jesus, I thank You for Your graciousness and mercy. Thank You that You call me to wait on You and rest in You. And as I return and rest, I will find strength and help and protection for me and all my loved ones.
I pray for Your Church throughout the world may Your mercy overflow into our lives and crown our years with abundance. Amen!
Take care of Your own LORD Jesus as You always do and help us to bring others to You, that they may know the unfailing love of GOD!
