You must see what great love the Father has lavished on us by letting us be called God’s children — which is what we are! The reason why the world does not acknowledge us is that it did not acknowledge him.

1 John 3:1

Reflection 

Think on this: we are deeply loved by God our Father. And we did nothing to deserve it. He loved us so much even before we were born that He gave His only Begotten Son for us!

God’s love is a sharp contrast to worldly love, which is based on merits and conditions.

As children of God let us not strive for worldly love, but bask in the love that our Father has already bestowed on us.

Prayer

Thank You Father for Your unfailing love towards me. Because You’ve loved me with an eternal love, I’m standing still through the storms, trials, joys and glory of life.

Your love alone has sheltered me.

I ask for Your mercy for the many times that I’ve neglected Your love and sought self-love or love of the world.

Stir my heart again with Your Holy Spirit’s Power so that my entire vision is fixed on You and You alone. Make me steadfast in delighting in and receiving Your love.

Let me be transcended into the radiance of Your glory and love; this is my prayer today and forever.

I abandon myself completely into Your unfailing love. Amen!
