‘I will come myself and cure him’ said Jesus. The centurion replied, ‘Sir, I am not worthy to have you under my roof; just give the word and my servant will be cured.
Matthew 8:8
Today, the Word of God presents to us, the power of Faith.
The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6, that “without faith, it is impossible to please God.”
And this gift of faith is a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit.
It is interesting to see the faith of today’s Gospel, demonstrated by a Roman Centurion. This makes me understand that the Holy Spirit works in willing hearts.
If I am willing and obedient, I will eat the fruit of the land (Isaiah 1:19).
IT also just came deeply into my heart on further reflection on Hebrews 11:6 that it ends up by saying, “because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Surely this is the faith that this centurion had in Jesus.
He knew that he was (technically speaking) “outside the covenant people or promise” but that did not deter him.
He trusted in Jesus to save his servant. And he was greatly rewarded.
Today, I too come to Jesus to save my family, every one of us in need of his healing anointing and mercy.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, today I come to You, asking for healing.
Lord Jesus, I call to You, in Your mercy, only say the word and we shall be healed.
I confess every spirit of fear and anxiety that has led me to act, talk or walk desperately and shrouded my heart from your love. Forgive me, Jesus.
Your Word says, “perfect love casts out all fear.”
So today, I come LORD Jesus asking and seeking that perfect love of Yours.
Let it flow into my heart and that of my husband and children and banish fear from our lives and territories forever.
In Your Name, I pray Lord Jesus. Amen.
I receive and boldly make a declaration for the spirit of faith, even Your Holy Spirit to fill my heart and the heart of my family, our homes and all that concerns us today in a new and eternal way. Amen.
I thank You for healing as we have asked You.
And according to Your Word Lord, I trust that You exist and that You will reward us who earnestly seek You.
Amen!
Glory be to You, LORD.
Amen.
