Who do men say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Eli’jah; and others one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” 

Mark 8:28-29

The LORD Jesus has only one true identity,

He is SON of God Most High, The Messiah (The Christ).

Yes, He came in the form of human nature and is indeed true God and true man, but His human nature was necessary for Him to become one like us and suffer and die for our sins.

Only through His Blood, His death on the Cross and His glorious Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven where He is seated at the Right HAND of the Father in glory, do we have eternal salvation.

There is no other way by which mankind is saved except through Jesus Christ!

He alone is the Anointed One.

He was anointed not for the kind of earthly glory as we know it, but rather He was anointed for

1 – God’s Kingship as the King of kings with eternal dominion over Heaven, earth and all creation (symbolised by the gift of gold from the wise men)

2 – Eternal Priesthood as the One Eternal Intercessor with the Father (symbolised by frankincense). Only through His Sacrificial offering of Himself as our great High Priest does the FATHER accept and receive our prayers

3 – Death and Redemption as the Lamb of God Who dies and takes away the sins of the world (symbolised by the gift of myrrh).

God did all of this out of love for us!

No wonder St John cries out, “behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the children of God.”

Prayer

Dear LORD Jesus we give You marvellous praise for You are magnificent, Omnipotent, Omniscient God!

Here I am Father to worship You! I give You all the praise for the wondrous sacrifice of Yourself and Your Son towards us.

Thank You so much for Your magnificent love.

Words can never express enough our gratitude, thanksgiving and joy!

Pour out upon us we pray more of Your Holy Spirit to fill us with Your loving kindness, faithfulness, gratitude and truth.

Thank YOU FOR EVERYTHING, Father, LORD Jesus, HOLY SPIRIT!

Thank You GOD FOR EVERYTHING!
