The wind blows where it pleases

The wind blows where it pleases; you can hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

John 3:8

When you think about the wind, what image comes to your mind?

For me, one of my favourite images is imagining myself, being stirred around and around with arms wide outstretched as I’m blown all over within and without by the strong power of the wind.

It’s an image of freedom, it’s an image of complete trust and surrender, and it’s an exhilarating feeling of joy and gladness.

It’s also an image of child likeness.

Children often spin around and around with their own effort and just enjoy the joy of the experience.

But there’s a deeper level of experiencing the wind.

This is perhaps the experience of a balloon filled with helium and let off into the air. You see it flying up and up into the clouds until you lose sight of it.

No one ever knows what happens to such balloons, only the wind knows the path of their travel and where they end up.

Jesus explains being born of the Spirit to a similar experience.

Being carried by the Wind of God, the Spirit of God in His great power.

Surrendering ourselves completely with trust and allowing Him carry us away into realms of the Father’s glory.

No doubt that would mean new journeys, travelling through routes and scenery that we’ve never known.

Above all it would mean taking on a new perspective.

God’s own perspective from up above, as He beams His Wisdom upon us from Heaven.

Prayer

LORD Jesus, today I come before Your majestic Presence to bless and worship and thank You.

Yes LORD, thank You for Your redeeming Blood and Your righteous, merciful love.

You have saved me by giving Your life in exchange for mine. How else can I praise YOU for Your goodness is beyond all!

Yet LORD, I need You, more and more of You. In fact, all of You!

I need Your Holy Spirit. So please today, baptise me like never before with Your Holy Spirit.

Thank You God for hearing me for You have promised that whosoever asks, receives.

Thank You for Your graciousness, LORD!

Amen!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
