The fringe of His garment

And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or country, they laid the sick in the market places, and besought him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched it were made well.

Mark 6:56

The prophet Malachi in the Old Testament prophesied about the Messiah.

In Malachi 4:2 the LORD promised, “for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings”.

That particular verse goes on to proclaim freedom, strength to walk and joy for all who God heals.

The wings Malachi mentioned referred to the hem of the garment (the tassles) in the traditional Jewish shawl.

Jesus, in today’s gospel reading, fulfills this prophecy of Malachi.

The people recognised Jesus as the Messiah and put their trust in Him, and today’s gospel tells us that they ran all around their neighbourhood, bringing sick people to wherever they heard He was.

Ah, how great was the enthusiasm of these people!

How fervent was their desire to receive the healing power of the Saviour!

In our time today and especially in the Body of Christ, the Church, sadly there is a lukewarm attitude to receiving Jesus’ healing graces.

From people who would argue whether healing is still relevant in our time, to those of us who believe that Jesus remains a healer today as He did in the Gospel, and yet are still complacent to proclaim and receive His healing mercies.

The LORD God Almighty deliver us from this evil of sloth and slumber in Jesus Name! Amen!

O that my soul could praise aloud GOD’s goodness and triumphant healing mercies towards us His children!

Today let us run like the people in the Gospel to receive God’s unfailing power, mercy and grace of healing!

Prayer

Holy Father, today I run to You through Jesus Your Son.

O LORD I ask for Your mercy and grace to overshadow me.

God Almighty send down Your Cloud of Glory to cover me, my family, and the Body of Christ throughout the world.

We need Your Presence renewed in our lives so that we can be bold to run towards our healer JESUS! And touch the fringe of His garments, that we made be made whole.

Your anointing is all we need, so cover us again with YOUR Presence.

Thank You for Your marvellous grace and healing.

We receive Divine Health now and forever in Jesus Christ our LORD.

Amen!

Thank You God for hearing us and answering our prayer.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
