What profit is there for one to gain the whole world
yet lose or forfeit himself?
Dear Lord Jesus,
I remember as a child going through catechism classes, hearing these words for the first time.
“What would it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and suffers the loss of his own soul?”
This is how it was phrased in the Catechism book, that taught us about Your love.
The moment I heard those of Yours, loving Saviour, they stayed with me and have since never left my heart.
Now today, as I reflect on the gospel from the Thursday after Ash Wednesday, You Lord present me with those words of Yours.
How timely, You always are.
For You know that though those words, have never left my heart, somehow with me being concerned with the cares and worries of life, Your word has moved to the background.
So today Lord Jesus, today, I stop to reflect, to ponder, to wonder, and to find again fresh refreshing from the springs of Your glory.
Help me Lord, to live a life of grace. Grace that flows abundantly from You taking me deeper.
Yes, Lord take me deeper… Deeper in love with You.
Thank You Lord for I know that as I have asked, You have heard and while I am yet speaking, You have answered.
To YOU ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY, now and forever. AMEN.
