Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may always see my glory which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:24
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…; And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (Gen 1:1, John 1:1).
When we ponder these two verses of Scripture we begin to get a sense of what Jesus meant when He said to His Father,
“I want these to see my glory that You have given me…from the foundation of the world.”
Jesus is referring to the glory of His Eternal Life.
He Who existed before everything made was made, as St John says to us in John 1:3, “Without Him was not anything made that was made.”
Oh, how magnificent then is this Life of Jesus!
How resplendent is His glory!
If we ponder on the Book of Revelation especially Revelation 4 and 5, we begin to see the manifest glory of God.
He, Jesus is the Eternal Life!
He alone is the most resplendent Light!
And His desire, His one greatest desire is that we share this Life and glory with Him.
That is why He said to Pilate, “for this I was born”.
He didn’t have to take on flesh. He did it because He wants us to be saved from death and live Eternal Life with Him.
That is His desire for us!
Oh how generous truly is God’s incredible love for us.
Today as you and I listen to His voice, calling us to Himself, to His Divine Life, to His glory, let us not harden our hearts, but run to the ONE Who has from the very beginning loved us even before He formed us.
Prayer
You Alone LORD are The Word, The Eternal Word of God.
You took on flesh and became human to give us a share in Your Divinity.
LORD today, open our eyes to see what You have called us to.
Replace our earthly life with Your Divine Life so that we may live and move and have our being in You as we live on this earth to do the Father’s will.
And when You call us home LORD, let us be with YOU where You are, and see Your glory forever.
Amen.
Always & Forever,
To the Lamb,
With all my ❤
