Pentecost Sunday

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together,

2 when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting;

3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them.

4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.

Acts 2:1-4

Today we celebrate the fulfillment of God’s promises to us.

Specifically, Jesus’ promise to His apostles that He would send the promise of the Father, The Counselor, The Spirit of Truth, is fulfilled today.

If we look at previous reflections these past few weeks, we see over and over again, Jesus referring to the Day when The Holy Spirit will come down from Heaven upon His apostles and disciples.

This day of Pentecost is the fulfillment of that promise and our desire as Christians to be perfectly united to God.

It is only by the Power of the Holy Spirit, that we are able to know God as He truly is.

Jesus calls Him, the Teacher, Who teaches us all things. He is the One Who leads us into all truth.

Today, as Catholics and Christians we unite ourselves with Mary – Mother of Jesus, the apostles and first disciples of Jesus, and we cry out from the depths of our hearts:

“Come, Holy Spirit!”

We need the Holy Spirit.

As Christians, the gift of the Holy Spirit is not an option. It is compulsory for us all to be baptised in the Power and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

This is the will of God concerning us, so how can we want anything less.

To be afraid or shy of speaking and living in the Power of the Holy Spirit is a deception of the devil (who is the father of lies) who wants to keep us timid and bound in a half-hearted Christianity.

So today, Heaven is opened unto us, the Power from on High is manifested freely upon us.

Let us all rise and take hold of the Power that God freely gives us in the Holy Spirit.

It is the Power of Truth, of freedom, of holiness, of Divine assurance and Protection from God that He is always with us, and will never leave us nor forsake us.

Let us say, “yes” to God, “yes” to His Spirit, “yes” to His love, and “yes” to all that the Holy Spirit brings into our lives today.

Prayer

O Holy Spirit of God, we welcome You!

Holy Father, thank You for sending Your Spirit to us, and fulfilling the promise of Jesus Your Son.

LORD Jesus, alleluia! Today, You have shown us that all You have promised us is truth.

You have fulfilled Your Promise to send Your Holy Spirit to us, to fill us with Your life.

We praise You o God, for today we are perfectly united by Your Spirit’s power into Your Divine Presence and Purpose.

Welcome Holy Spirit, I surrender all to You today and forever.

Come into my life and fill me with Your Power.

Transform our lives, our hearts, our families, our Church and our world with Your Presence.

Amen.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
