Restorer of streets

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.

Isaiah 58:12

One of the main challenges of Lent, is going through our commitment of prayer and fasting.

The thought of 40 days abstaining from food or some other activity that we take pleasure in seems really daunting.

Today, however, in Isaiah 58:9-14, the LORD shows us a new way to live that is pleasing to Him.

He reminds us that ultimately what he wants from us is love. Love of God and each other.

He talks about taking off the yoke of oppression, not pointing fingers of blame, helping the poor we meet.

This is the ultimate goal of sacrifice to teach us to love others more. However, we often miss this point because our sacrifice tends to focus on “me”.

What I want to gain for “me” during this season of Lent.

Whilst such an intention is good and necessary to strengthen our faith and walk with God, the LORD is challenging us today to open our hearts wider too, to intercede for His people.

The promises He attaches to our obedience to His call are simply amazing!

“He will strengthen your bones… ancient ruins rebuilt… foundations of many generations raised… the breach repaired… the restorer of streets to dwell in.

As I ponder these great promises, I am inspired to pray for The Church of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Today, if you feel led too, join in lifting up Your voice throughout this Lenten season to intercede for the restoration of Christ’s Church.

May the LORD God, our Restorer, keep us in His grace and peace.

Amen!

Prayer

Holy Spirit, You are welcome LORD!

In this place, at this time, in this season, we welcome You!

More than our words can express or convey, we honour Your Mighty Presence.

Thank You for teaching us, mere babies, the secret things of God and revealing the Will of the Father to us!

Hallowed be Your Holy Name!

For Your mercies and Your grace, and because You deserve it, we worship You!

Lead us in this season of Lent on the path of truth and holiness so that we may see the glory of God restored in our land, our Church – the Bride of Christ.

Bless and protect every one who prays for Her restoration and crown us too with Your glory.

Let us be partakers in Her glory according to Your promises Living God!

Thank You for hearing us, for blessing us, for restoring us.

In Jesus Name, we pray.

Amen!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
