Whoever holds to my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and reveal myself to him.’

Christ’s message to us today is all about: love.
Love for Him, is what compels us to know and keep His commandments, obeying them with all our hearts.
Indeed, there were times in my earlier life, when the commandments of God seemed like a big burden; thanks be to God for His grace that He poured into my heart, to teach me that loving Him breaks every yoke of sin, and helps me stay steadfast to His truth and commands.
Simply put, without the grace of God, it is impossible for anyone to obey God’s commandments.
The good news is that because of the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His glorious Resurrection, the free gift of grace has been abundantly given to us.
As St Paul says, where sin abounds, grace abounds even more (Romans 5:20).
Therefore let us with confidence approach the Throne of Grace, for before God we will find mercy and help in our time of need.
Also, Jesus assures us that as we love Him, His Father will love us and He will also love us and reveal Himself to us.
Today, many of us know that the LORD loves us but there still seems to be some factor, somewhere, limiting our full acceptance of His love.
Let our prayers rise like incense before Him today, to break free those chains of resistance – and move us even deeper, into a deep, deep, understanding of the love of our God.
Prayer
Holy Father, I come to You, to set me free.
I come to You, to depend on You.
Immerse me in Your love, Your limitless love – fill me with Your grace, Your endless grace.
Let rivers of mercy flow upon me and into me, that my heart may be set free.
Let endless mercy flow through me, that all chains be broken and I’m set free.
Rivers of life, Your river of love, let Your ocean of grace, please flood again my soul.
Amen!
