Jesus gave them power and authority

He called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.

Luke 9:1-2

As I read these verses of scripture today, two things came to my mind.

First that Jesus gave His disciples power and authority over all devils and to cure all diseases.

Secondly, that Jesus sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God.

As I pondered both, I was enlightened by the Holy Spirit to understand that it is impossible to proclaim the Kingdom of God without power and authority.

In fact, it is impossible to effectively do any work in the Kingdom of God without power and authority.

Now what is this power and authority?

It is the power and the authority of the Holy Spirit, Himself.

Jesus said, “And you will receive power when the SPIRIT comes upon you and you will be my disciples.”

Also He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, go therefore and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:18-19)…

This means that we need Jesus to baptise us with His Holy Spirit and Power. We also need to tap into the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ to effectively minister His love in our world.

Think again about it, even Jesus Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Eternal Word, Who created all things

As St John say of Him, “Without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:3)…

And yet in His greatest humility, He took on the form of flesh and in our human nature, surrendered Himself to be baptised with the Holy Spirit and with the authority and Power from God before He started His earthly ministry (Mark 1:10-11).

The Kingdom of God is ours through the victory that Jesus our Saviour has won for us.

God the Most Holy Trinity has given us everything. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit call us today into a deepest communion of love with our Triune God.

O that today we may listen to His voice, may we harden not our hearts.

Prayer

Most Blessed Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly.

I thank You for coming to me this day, as little as I am, to minister Your love and grace to me.

O Holy Father, I repent of runking away from Your love.

I repent of hiding from Your streams of everlasting graces.

Forgive me LORD. I repent. I begin again, today.

Please baptise me LORD Jesus with Your Holy Spirit and Power and give me the authority that I need to preach and abide in Your Word.

Give me all that I need to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to manifest Your victory and authority over all devils and forms of sicknesses.

Jesus, baptise me with Your Holy Spirit and anoint me anew.

I trust in Your unfailing love.

I depend on Your unfailing power.

Have Your way in me, Most Holy God, Living and True…now and forever.

Amen.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
