I won’t leave you orphans

I shall not leave you orphans; I shall come to you.

John 14:18

Jesus promised His disciples on the night of His last supper that He won’t leave them orphans, but would come to us.

How does He come to us, when He has gone back to the Father?

Through the Holy Spirit.

In John 14:16, He says that He will ask the Father and He will give us another Paraclete (Advocate or Helper), Who would be with us forever.

He goes on to explain that this Paraclete is “the Spirit of Truth… Who is with us and is in us.”

Think very consciously of this.

God the Holy Spirit, lives in me.

Jesus again asserts this by saying in verse 21, “On that day you will know that I am in my Father and you in me and I in you.”

I feel strongly to pause here and say,

Prayer

“Come, Holy Spirit, help me to truly understand, live and experience this mystery.

I don’t want to pretend that I understand it in the slightest, or have figured it out.

Please, please, dear God, forgive my slowness of mind and heart and help me to fully understand it all.

Open my mind to understand, Blessed Holy Spirit and begin to love this truth even right now, and forever.

Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, come now, come as You wish.

Amen.”

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
