Then I said, “Lo, I come; in the roll of the book it is written of me; I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my heart.”
Psalm 40:7-8
The psalmist today echoes the words of Jesus as he accepted the mission of The Father to become the Redeemer of mankind.
The Book of Revelation explains these verses of the psalm in more depth.
Revelation 5 gives us the narrative of God The Father holding a scroll that was written upon and sealed.
An angel called out to find who was worthy to open the scroll and look into it – and no one was found.
St John the evangelist to whom this vision was revealed wept bitterly when he saw that no one was found worthy to take the scroll from the hand of God.
However one of the elders said to him, “do not weep, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David has triumphed. He is able to take the scroll and open its seven seals”.
At which point the Lamb of God Who was slain but alive appeared before the Throne of God, and took the scroll from the right hand of God The Father.
Alleluia!!!
This is the message of our salvation!
For this reason we also have been called to follow in the footsteps of our Redeemer.
Today let us ponder on how God is calling us.
In humility let us bow our heads low and offer our lives to Him.
What does He require of us?
With our Saviour Jesus, let us say to God our Father, “Here I am LORD, I come to do Your will”.
Prayer
O LORD Jesus Christ, You are the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.
We come before You today with our hearts full of praise.
Like the twenty four elders and angels who were gathered before The Father’s Throne and worshipped You Living Lamb as You stepped forward as the Redeemer of mankind.
We praise You and sing, “You alone are worthy!”
Today LORD Jesus, I bow my head before You in praise and submit myself to the Father’s will.
Here I am LORD, I come to do Your will.
Receive me o LORD I ask, and have Your way in me.
Amen!
Always & Forever,
To The Lamb,
With all my ❤
