God’s promise must be fulfilled

Thus says the Lord: ‘As the rain and the snow come down from the heavens and do not return without watering the earth, making it yield and giving growth to provide seed for the sower and bread for the eating, so the word that goes from my mouth does not return to me empty, without carrying out my will and succeeding in what it was sent to do.’

Isaiah 55:10-11

God is a God of promises.

We see this throughout the Bible.

From His calling to Abraham (while he was still named Abram) and God’s promise to him that he would become the father of many nations.

To God’s promise to Joseph (in his dreams) that his brothers and father! would bow down to him.

To God’s promise to Moses that he would lead His people out of Egypt (a promise that God made to Abraham as well).

To God’s promise to David that a son of his shall sit on his throne forever (fulfilled in Jesus).

To God’s promise to Isaiah that a virgin will conceive and bear a son and His Name will be Immanuel.

God always fulfills His promises!

And this is the message from the LORD to us today. Whatever God has promised you, must surely come to pass – only believe!

Today, I am firmly reminded of this as I celebrate my son’s birthday. God promised my husband and I a son even before we got married. So when we found out I was pregnant, we didn’t bother checking what sex the child was during the antenatal scans. We simply believed God’s word, held His promise to heart and shopped for baby boy clothing.

And GOD did exactly like He said!

Oh the depths of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable are His ways. For who has known the mind of the LORD so as to give Him counsel? (Romans 11:33-34)

Prayer

O God, Your Wisdom is infinite, incomparable, incomprehensible, unsurpassable.

How can I think You enough for Your boundless promises to me and mine.

Everything that You have promised, You have brought and are bringing to pass.

I am grateful! So grateful LORD.

Today, I agree again with all Your promises to me, my family and loved ones, Your Church and Your world.

Together with Mary, our Mother, we say – “Be it done to us according to Your Word”. Amen.

Come LORD Jesus.

Always & Forever,

To The LAMB,

With all my ❤
