A new heart

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy Spirit from me.

Psalm 51:10-11

I’ve been pondering the life of Samson Judges 13 – 16.

His life is so mysterious, full of ups and downs, triumphs and failures, sin and repentance, strength and weakness.

His main weakness was towards women as he ultimately fell due to Delilah’s seduction.

However, he repented and God restored His strength unto him and gave him the final victory.

The one thing that strikes me, is that before each mighty victory the scriptures say, “the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him.

This is such an incredible lesson for us.

We can’t ascend to God on our own strength.

We are unable to win great victories spiritually, physically, emotionally and in all areas of life without God’s Spirit.

We need the Spirit of the LORD to fill us and come mightily upon us.

The psalmist today, King David, pleads to God to create a pure heart in him and renew a right spirit within him.

He goes on to seek God’s help for the outpouring of His Holy Spirit.

Let us today, ask God for a new heart and for the Spirit of the LORD to come mightily upon us.

If God did it in the life of Samson to overcome the enemies of His people, how much more will He do it in our lives, as we make intercession in the Name of His Son Jesus, for a mighty outpouring of tbe Holy Spirit in our lives and the life of our loved ones, and His Church.

Prayer

Almighty Father, with You, all things are possible!

We come before You today, asking for the mighty outpouring of Your Holy Spirit to help us in our dire and desperate weaknesses.

I now see Father, more than ever before, that my recent failures are because I relied on my self, so called experience and expertise, to get me far.

Alas, Holy Father, in Your great Wisdom, You’ve caused all this to fail me, so that I may again return to You clothed in my right mind.

In my right mind, with the grace of a pure heart, LORD I declare, the struggle is over, as I allow You now take over!

Have Your way, renew me, recreate me, transform me, heal me, deliver me and use me.

Elect me as one upon whom You keep holy (forever) for Yourself, and pour out Your Mighty Power through Your Holy Spirit.

I can do nothing without You, and yet there’s so much to be done.

So anoint me LORD I pray with Your Holy Spirit’s power and indwelling presence.

Father, I ask all of this in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son.

Amen!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
