A Great Light

the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned.

Matthew 4:16; Isaiah 8:2

The prophecy of Isaiah about the restoration of the land of Zebulun and Naphtali was fulfilled when Jesus relocated from Nazareth to Capernaum.

At Capernaum which is in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus started His ministry.

First, He called Peter and Andrew who were fishermen to join Him and become fishers of men.

Next, He called James and John, who were fishing with their father Zebedee, to join Him.

This way the ministry of Jesus started not with great razmataaz but with Him preaching repentance.

He was the Light of the world that was leading people out of the deep darkness of sin into the glorious company of God in His eternal radiance.

Jesus, our LORD, is also calling us today to depart from sin and it’s evil bondage, and embrace our glorious calling in the Light of His glory.

What we need to do is confess any guilt to Him, ask for His forgiveness and turn back to Him with a truly contrite heart.

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Confession is an ocean of grace wherein we can find mercy, healing, deliverance and restoration, so let us be emboldened to embrace Jesus’ love in this sacrament.

His grace will set us free.

Amen.

Prayer

Holy Spirit we welcome You today into our hearts and souls and minds and bodies.

We ask You to have Your way in our lives. Deliver us, strengthen us and bless us in Jesus Name. Amen.

Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on us and open our eyes to see Jesus who is the Light of the world calling us out of our darkness into His marvellous light.

We desire Jesus and no one else.

We desire His Light to walk in it and be freed and free in it.

So show us the way into the Light of Christ and lead us to walk in it steadfastly all our days.

That our lives may be living witnesses, testimonies to His glory.

We make our prayer in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth.

Amen!

Always & Forever,

To The Lamb,

With all my ❤
