The will of the Father

Now the will of him who sent me is that I should lose nothing of all that he has given to me, but that I should raise it up on the last day.

It is my Father’s will that whoever sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and that I should raise that person up on the last day.

John 6:39-40

The LORD’s words today are so comforting!

For sure, His words always bring comfort to our hearts, but I feel especially comforted, deep down in my soul, when I read His promises today about the Father’s will.

Jesus is giving us His seal of promise, that whoever believes in Him, He shall not lose!

His assurance is deeply comforting because it reflects the heart and mind of the Father towards us.

The Father simply wants us to believe in His Son and leave the rest to Him to accomplish our salvation.

What does it mean to believe in Jesus?

Using the simple lesson from my children’s Cathecism, to believe in Jesus is to know Him, love Him and serve Him in this world… that I may be happy with Him forever in the next world.

To believe in Jesus is to believe and confess that He is the Only Begotten Son of God, the Messiah Who died for my sins to reconcile me to the Father, and He rose from the dead having conquered the devil. Now He is seated at the Father’s Right Hand where He reigns.

To believe in Jesus is to daily confess His Lordship over my life and to submit myself totally to Him, that I may do His will.

I guess simply put, believing in Jesus, is saying “yes” to Him and offering Him the reins of my life so that He may shepherd me, guide me, and live through me.

Prayer

What more can be said, LORD?

I believe in You LORD Jesus, and I surrender the reins of my life to You.

Have Your way and live through me.

The promise of Your salvation is my utmost desire to receive.

Be glorified LORD and thank You that I can trust that You will always take care of me, and never lose me.

I intercede for all my family, friends and loved ones; for Your Church and all whom You are calling to Yourself.

May we all answer Your call, LORD, humbly, faithfully, trustingly, and lovingly.

That Your reign, Your gracious, glorious, beautiful, bountiful, boundless, reign may be established in earth, in our time, as it is in Heaven.

Amen!

Maranatha – Come LORD Jesus!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
