The stone rejected

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: `The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Matthew 21:42

The Scriptures show us how to submit ourselves under the Divine authority of God, rather than strive to be independent of His will.

The stone rejected, is a thread in the life of Joseph (son of Jacob in the Old Testament) and Jesus.

Joseph’s brothers were jealous of him because his father loved him more than all his other children.

The situation got worse when Joseph had dreams about his position of authority and shared them with his brothers.

The jealousy led them to plot against him, to take his life.

Eventually they sold him for twenty pieces of silver.

However, that stone which was rejected (Joseph), in the land of his exile, ended up bringing the salvation of the whole family and nation of Israel.

Joseph foreshadowed the life of Jesus.

He too left His Father’s Kingdom and became a servant (Philippians 2:7).

During His time on earth, Jesus’ brethren (the Jewish leaders) were jealous of Him, because He called God His Father.

He was eventually betrayed by His own close disciple for thirty pieces of silver, and pur to death on a cross.

However God didn’t let it end there!

He fulfilled the testimony of Jesus and raised Him up on the last day.

Therefore Jesus is highly exalted and through His death and Resurrection, has won victory for the entire human race, as a family of God.

How awesome is God’s infinite Wisdom.

Today let us reflect on God’s dominion and surrender to the way He works in our lives and the world.

Let us also ask God in His DOMINION to bring healing and graces upon the lives of the sick and all who are in need of His mercy.

Prayer

Holy Father, thank You for all the ways that You are working in our lives.

You are continuously watching over us and protecting us from every evil.

Even when we don’t understand certain trials in our lives, we can always trust that Your plans for us are for good and not evil.

Thank You for being our awesome Father.

Let Your will be done in our lives, now and always.

Amen.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
