Thanksgiving Sacrifice

He who brings thanksgiving as his sacrifice honors me; to him who orders his way aright I will show the salvation of God!”

Psalm 50:23

Thanksgiving to God is an act of worship to Him Who Alone is deserving of all our praise.

The LORD is enthroned in His holy heavens, He is higher than the highest, and yet He delights in us – the sons of men.

Out of all creatures, we alone are made in His image and likeness.

Therefore, it is truly right that we give God thanks and praise.

He has done all things well, for us!

During Lent, we recount how Jesus took on flesh, and ultimately paid the price of our sins, by dying on the cross.

Again, God did this for us!

No wonder the psalmist marveled in Psalm 8:4-5,

“What is man that Thou art mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him. You have made him little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honour.”

This excelling love of our great God, the Most HIGH King towards us should leave us baffled with endless thanksgiving!!!

Oh that the Holy Spirit would open our eyes and ears and minds and hearts to truly know the glory to which we have been raised!

That we may never cease to praise and thank the God of great grace Who has exalted us into His Divine Life!

My desire is for a heart that relentlessly and yet restfully continues to praise the LORD God, unceasingly in this life, into eternity.

May God have mercy on me and give me this heart of praise.

Above all, the highest sacrifice of the Mass is our highest sacrifice of Thanksgiving to God.

The Eucharist literally means Thanksgiving.

In all the tabernacles of the world throughout the earth, the LORD Jesus dwells.

At every sacrifice of the Mass, Thanksgiving is offered to our God in fulfillment of Malachi 1:11.

Today and every day of our lives, let us unite spiritually and physically when we can to join the offering of Thanksgiving to God through the Mass.

May God delight in the praises and Thanksgiving of His people.
