Receiving freedom in Christ

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36

Dear LORD Jesus, You have freely given us YOURSELF, Your Father and Your Holy Spirit.

You didn’t stop there, but You also gave us Your Mother, Your Church, Your world.

In the midst of all these gifts, we sometime act as though overwhelmed by Your love towards us.

Many times LORD, this feeling of being overwhelmed has mixed effects in our lives.

We sometimes are incredibly grateful and return Your love back in praise and worship.

At other times, we act confused and retreat from Your love…as our hearts struggle to grasp the depths of Your Truth.

Still sometimes LORD, we block out thinking and deeply pondering the extent of Your love and gifts towards us, as we recognise it as a mystery too magnificent for our mere human minds.

Yet LORD, our spirit yearns and pines for You more.

The more we seek You, the more we thirst.

When we retreat, we soon run dry as arid ground and begin to pant desperately for You.

When we block out reflecting on Your Light, we soon fall into darkness and sin and error in our ways and realise our blindness.

There is no path without You LORD, Jesus.

At least none that leads to life.

And so today LORD as we reflect on Your Word, we turn to You to set us free.

Free us LORD, so that we receive the grace of Your Holy Spirit to receive all the fullness of Your gifts to us.

As St Paul prayed, let us “have power to understand how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ”.

We need Your power to receive Your freedom, gifts and fullness of Your love.

Thank You LORD Jesus for as we ponder and ask all this, You have benevolently given Your all to us.

We receive all You give us with gratitude and praise.

Amen.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
