The Marriage Covenant

He answered, ‘Have you not read that the Creator from the beginning made them male and female

5 and that he said: This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and the two become one flesh?

6 They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. So then, what God has united, human beings must not divide.’

Matthew 19:4-6

The LORD God has established Himself in a marriage covenant with His Church forever!

As members of His Church, we each individually have a “yes” to say to Jesus’ proposal.

He invites us into this covenant of love, eternal love and union with Him.

This is what He signifies through the physical marriage covenant of man and woman.

That in becoming totally one and committed with each other, forever, there is an eternal union and bond of love.

Eternal means ever-lasting, never ending.

Think about this for a moment.

Jesus invites us into an ever lasting union of marriage with Him.

What is your response to this?

Mine is “Yes!” “YES, JESUS, YES.”

Prayer

I hear Your voice today, oh my Bridegroom as You propose to love me forever, and I say, “yes” to You!

You are the GOD Who has loved me unceasingly from my mother’s womb and even before that.

I say, “Yes,” to You Jesus and Your proposal of marriage to me.

“YES, LORD JESUS CHRIST, SON OF THE LIVING GOD, I TAKE YOU TODAY AS MY ETERNAL BRIDEGROOM!”

I am ecstatic to be married in an everlasting covenant to You!!!

Take me now LORD, I am fully Yours and love me completely as You will.

I love You, Jesus with all my heart, and all my soul, and all my mind, and all my strength, always and forever! By Your Spirit’s Power! Amen!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
