He said again to the crowds, ‘When you see a cloud looming up in the west you say at once that rain is coming, and so it does.

And when the wind is from the south you say it’s going to be hot, and it is.

Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the face of the earth and the sky. How is it you do not know how to interpret these times?

Luke 12:54-56

As Christians, one of the deceptions we often fall into is misunderstanding the times and seasons of our lives.

We fail to see how God is working in our lives, in our families and homes, in His Church, and in His world.

Our eyes are covered and our minds are often clouded with the many distractions and disturbances that surround us.

Pondering on the Gospel of St Luke today, brought this truth to my heart.

Oh how very frequently, I have failed to understand the times.

Jesus’ call today is for all of us!

If His people who are called by His Name, should humble ourselves, pray and seek His Face, then He will hear from Heaven. He will heal and restore! (2 Chronicles 7:14).

May we today ask for a new vision from Heaven.

Jesus said if they will see with their eyes, and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts, and turn to me, I will heal them. (Matthew 13:15)

So today, let us turn to Jesus and ask Him for the grace to see, hear and understand the times. For only in doing so, can we really be fully available to Him, and work with His Holy Spirit to yield a harvest of fruitfulness for His Father’s Kingdom.

Prayer

LORD Jesus, You are God Most Holy, Most Gracious and Merciful!

Today, we turn to Your mercy and grace to help us in this our time of need.

We need Your Spirit of discernment to understand the times we are in.

We ask for Your Spirit of discernment to understand how You are working in our hearts, lives, homes, families and Your Church and Your world.

O come most Precious Holy Spirit and fill our hearts with the true fire of love. Free us from every distraction and fill our hearts with discernment.

So that loving Jesus completely, we will see with our eyes and hear with our ears and understand with our hearts what You are saying to us. Then turning again to Him, even right now, as we turn again to Him, He heals us!

Oh! Glory to God!!!

Thank You God of all consolation for doing what only You can do.

Alleluia!!! Amen!
