God’s miracle

But they were childless: Elizabeth was barren and they were both advanced in years.

24 Some time later his wife Elizabeth conceived and for five months she kept to herself, saying,

25 ‘The Lord has done this for me, now that it has pleased him to take away the humiliation I suffered in public.’

Luke 1:7, 24-25

It’s 6 days until Christmas. Today, the Church’s readings present us with a look into God’s promises (and fulfillment) to two women who were barren.

These two women are Manoah’s wife, the mother of Samson (Judges 13:2-24) and Elizabeth, the wife of Zechariah and mother of John the Baptist.

God saw the faithfulness of both these women and their husbands and stepped in to perform wondrous miracles in their lives.

At old age, God gave them children; children destined for greatness and filled with the Spirit of God from their mother’s womb.

How excellent is our God!

He incredibly rewards those who wait on Him with such benevolent love and blessings.

In fact He embarrasses us (in a great and marvellous way) with His blessings!

This is who our God is.

He is the God of miracles.

Throughout scriptures again and again we see His miraculous blessings in the lives of His people...

Well guess what the beauty of all this is?

We too are His people!

Yes, we serve and worship the same God as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Elijah, Samson, David, Elizabeth and Mary. The God of Heaven!

The Father of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ is our Father too and our hearts rejoice in Him.

So today, I am expecting God for a miracle! One miracle that will embarrass me and my family in a great and marvellous way. A miracle that will fill us up to overflowing with His Holy Spirit and empower us to fulfil our Divine destiny in God.

Be expectant for God, o my soul!

Prayer

O God, You are truly marvellous!

There is no one that compares to You.

You are the God of miracles.

Ah, Father forgive me for losing sight of this reality!

Bless me today with Your miracle. For You are the same God of the scriptures that I worship.

I surrender and bow down at Your feet and totally submit myself to Your holy will.

Yes LORD, have Your way and be glorified in my life and the life of my family, especially today and forever more.

Amen!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
