So they went out and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.
Mark 6:12-13
The anointing of the sick with oil, brought healing by the disciples’ hands.
So, why is the anointing with oil important?
Oil represents the anointing of God Himself as we see in the Old Testament, when God chose kings to rule His people Israel and sent His prophets to anoint them with oil.
So, anointing the sick with oil was a sign that God was confirming His promises on the person who was being anointed, and God was claiming that person as His own.
In that Power of anointing, the Holy Spirit falls upon the anointed one and breaks every chain, every bondage and sets free from every infirmity.
O glory, alleluia!
The Power of our God is amazing!
He is our great Deliverer!
Our manifest Healer!
Our Everlasting Father!
Our Mighty Saviour!
Our El-Shaddai! The Almighty God!
Prayer
Holy God we praise Your NAME!
You alone are God Most Holy, Most High.
You are powerful above all
Beautiful above all, You are God the Most High!
We sing praises for Your holiness
We sing glory to Your loveliness
You are God the Most High
