A disciple’s tongue

The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him that is weary.

Morning by morning he wakens, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious,

For the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been confounded; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame;

Isaiah 50:4-5, 7

Today’s is the Feast of Palm Sunday.

On this day 2020 years ago, our LORD rode on a donkey into Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Passover.

The people cheered and celebrated Him as King, singing, “Hosanna!”

Jesus’ entry resembled the entry of Solomon when he was to be crowned king after David.

So the people recognised His entry on a donkey as the fulfillment of God’s promise to David to set his son on the throne of Israel forever.

However the image they had of Jesus’ mission as king was very different from what God had in mind.

For Jesus, His reign as King was to be fulfilled through His mission as the suffering servant.

He is the disciple of God Who listens and speaks God’s words. Bringing comfort to the broken hearted, healing wounds and restoring life.

The Saviour Who lays down His life, setting His Holy Face like flint before insult and ridicule; being unmoved through it all, because His eyes are set on His Redemptive victory through His death and Resurrection.

We serve an awesome, merciful King!

Prayer

LORD Jesus, today we wave our palms and arms in praise as we sing Hosanna to You, our King!

You are LORD God, King Most High Who laid down Your life for us.

In this knowledge LORD, I rest everything in my life at Your feet.

Reign, live and breathe in me.

Words truly fail me to speak and so I simply say, “Hosanna be to Your Name, God Most High!”

Thank You for all You have done.

Thank You for all You are doing.

Thank You for all You are going to do.

My praise belongs to You forever, please receive it God my Most High King!

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
