Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

What does the LORD require of us?
As we go through this season of Lent, let us ask for the grace to ponder this constantly.
As each new day dawns, let us humbly but fervently as Him, “LORD, today, what do you require of me? How can I love You more? How can I love my neighbour better?”
And as we ask, let us wait for Him to answer.
In today’s Gospel reading, we preview the last judgement, and the reward of those who have lived, their lives on earth, pleasing to God.
We see clearly that God’s main criteria is based in love for our neighbour.
This reminds me of the letter of St James 2:15-17 where he declares faith without good works is dead.
Similarly, 1 John 3:17 says if we ignore our neighbour in need, then we can’t truly say we love God.
Today, the meditation on the last judgement should be an act that is very personal.
There is no prescriptive formula.
We each as individuals know or should find out by asking the LORD to show us and help us to be more generous in love.
As we ponder and pray for this grace, may God in His infinite mercy renew our lives in His love.
Prayer
LORD Jesus, You are the Divine King that will come again in Your glory to bring justice to all people at the last judgement.
Merciful Saviour, we cannot dare to fall short of Your glory at this great act of Your justice.
In Your great love, You’ve revealed to us, a glimpse of the graces You desire Your people to embrace.
LORD, pour out Your Spirit upon us in a fresh way so that we may be bold to say “yes” to Your graces of Divine love.
Increase our capacity and ability to love.
Let the grace of Your Holy Spirit stretch us beyond bounds, breaking all bounds and limitations in our lives that inhibits us from loving completely.
Thank You Divine Master, LORD and King for this glorious promise of Redemption.
We exalt You for answering our prayers and pouring afresh upon us Your Holy Spirit.
Father, we exalt You forever in Jesus Name.
