Neither do I condemn you

‘No one, sir,’ she replied. ‘Neither do I condemn you,’ said Jesus. ‘Go away, and from this moment sin no more.’

John 8:11

These words of Jesus in today’s Gospel, were spoken to the woman who had been caught in the act of adultery.

During the time of Christ, according to the laws, such a woman was to be stoned to death

When she was brought before the Lord Jesus to receive a sentence of condemnation, to the astonishment of all, she received mercy!

This is the entirety of the Gospel message,

“That God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him.”

Jesus Christ is the King of Mercy and the Fount of inexhaustible mercy!

So no matter our state, we have confidence to approach Him for mercy and through Him, to come before the Father clothed in the mercy of Jesus.

God loves us and wants to free us from all our sin and every condemnation.

This is the GOSPEL.

So today, leave behind everything that hinders you from receiving God’s love and run, run dearly, run desperately, run tirelessly, into the merciful arms of Christ; for He is already ready to receive us.
