Living water

My soul thirsts

As the deer longs for the running water,
so my soul longs for you, O God. – Psalm 42: 1

This morning Lord Jesus, I woke up thirsty.

My mouth was parched, and so I drank a cup of water.

Still I thirsted, and so I drank some more water..

Yet still Lord, I thirsted.

And it is only now that I have come into Your Presence,

That I feel my thirst being quenched.

But still Lord, I thirst for You.

My soul thirsts and longs for more of You.

It feels like the more You satisfy my soul with Your Presence, the more I thirst Lord.

It’s like the psalmist says today, as the deer thirsts for running waters, so my soul longs for you.

It’s like Moses said to You Lord, “if your presence will not go with us, do not carry us up from here.” – Exodus 33: 14 – 15

Lord, we need Your Presence, deep within our souls.

In today’s reading from Monday of the Third Week of Lent, we see how Naaman also thirsted.

He thirsted to be cured of his leprosy and the prophet Elisha sent him to the river Jordan to wash.

And as he washed Lord, he was cleansed…and then his soul began to long for You.

You say to us, “whoever is thirsty, let them come to me and whoever believes in me, let them drink.” – John 7: 37 – 39

Lord, I thirst and so Lord, I come.

I come running to the fountain of Your Living Water.

Fill my thirst Lord, quench my thirst.

Revive my heart and my soul, Living Water of God.

So that I drink and never stop, until out of my heart flows rivers of Living Water.

How we need the river
How we need the rain
Living water flow to us
Again, we pray

Shower down your glory
Shower down your grace
Let your holy presence
Fill this place
Let your holy presence
Fill this place

– Lyrics by Terry Macalmon

Always and Forever,

To The Lamb.

With all my love.
