It is Finshed

Good Friday – Our Passover Lamb is slain

When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished”; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.

For these things took place that the scripture might be fulfilled, “Not a bone of him shall be broken.” And again another scripture says, “They shall look on him whom they have pierced.”

John 19:30, 34, 36, 37

About 2000 years ago today, our LORD Jesus Christ, was sacrificed as the true Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.

He suffered a most horrendous trial, torture and death on a cross to save me.

He gave Himself as the atoning sacrifice for my sins and as the ultimate price for my life.

Jesus as my great High Priest offered to God once and for all, the perfect redemptive offering that removes forever the sins of the whole world.

As St John the Baptist proclaimed concerning Him, “Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world.”

Isaiah prophesied about Him, that “He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was laid upon Him and through His wounds, we are healed.”

Brothers and sisters in Christ, this fulfilled redeeming love of Christ is our life’s anchor!

This is our only hope for victory in this life and in the life to come.

Today, let us ponder deeply the Gospels around the Passion of our LORD.

He simply wants us to accept His redemption in our lives.

Today, let us bow down, bend low, accept the Blood and Water that flowed from the pierced side of Jesus to wash over us, as we lay our lives down before His Cross.

Prayer

When I survey the wondrous cross

On which the Prince of glory died

My richest gain, I count but loss

And pour contempt on all my pride.

Eternal Father we offer You

The Body and the Blood

Soul and Divinity of Your dearly Beloved Son

Our LORD Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world

For the sake of His sorrowful passion

Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Always & Forever,

To the Lamb,

With all my ❤
